Play me — a poem
1 min readNov 3, 2019
Comatose and filthy
next to sneakers and scarves
unstained, untainted.
‘Play me, play me’, I whisper.
Brittle strings
tourniquet my belly
unplucked, unheard.
‘Play me, play me’, I speak.
Fragile chin rest
a plastic scapula
undone, unwritten.
‘Play me, play me’, I scream.
Poem written by Vanessa Jones of Jones the Writer, 2012.
